    On 4AD ..
Just listening to it now - sounds unusually excellent!
Could be on a lot of Best of 2012 lists.

    Has anybody listened to this?

Really like the music and production, but the little girl vocals grate after a while.

Haha I know what you mean ... Japaneese girly sound - although also reminds me of Cocteau Twins at times. Will see if it stands the test of time.

Hard to describe this album - it's definitely original for sure

Lots of 4AD artists of the past in the mix alright, though Liz Fraser had a high pitched voice (that was absolutely amazing) it was somehow different, didn't remind you of a 6 year old girl.

After listening to the album a few times and seeing her live stuff on Youtube and Jools I'm getting used to her voice, she's fantastic!

I find her very good too, one of the best albums of the year so far, I can't wait to see her live on Forbidden Fruit!!

It happens sometimes that you dislike something a bit when you first hear it but then after repeated listening get to like it, I still think her voice is much better live as it has too much unnecessary "sweetening" applied to it in recordings, though the sheer invention and passion in the music overrides any dislike of her vocal treatment after repeated listens, re: blaming me, don't be minding what I say I'm full of sh*t most of the time!

She's in session with Lauren Laverne on BBC6 on Thurs morning.
Definitely going to be a Forbidden Fruit highlight.

Cheers for the heads up on Grimes lads & lassies. Had never heard (of) her.
Downloaded album from itunes earlier (6.99 -bargain!). On second listen now and I'm well impressed. Reminds me of Cranes.

A couple of standout tracks but I suspect the whole album will be a grower. 'Circummbient' is fantastic! I'm looking forward to my drive to work in the morning - ears will water with this one.

    Interesting blurb on Wikipedia.

I'm still trying to un-hear the lisp. Just to find out if it can be done, is all.
