Clipsal 500 starts in Adelaide tomorrow and as a die hard Blue Oval fan, I'm really looking forward to seeing FPR/SBR finally putting it up to 888.

Fingers crossed Frosty, WIll Davision, The Giz and Holdsworth will have the Blue Oval up the front consistently.

My wishes for the year are:

    - a Ford driver to win the championship but more importantly, a Ford win at Bathurst would nearly be more important to me as those GM boys have had too much of a good thing and 888's 3peat aside, it's been 14 years since another Ford team won there.

Anyone else looking forward to the new season? 2013 is going to be a whole new ballgame with Nissan entering the fray (with Kelly racing) and also rumours abound that Chrysler could be hooking up with GRM.

Hahaha, they need to get Richo in to do their PR so after his brilliant and uncharacteristic outburst after the 1992 Bathurst.

Doubt it, Nissan need to enter a RWD.

It's more than likely going to be the new Nissan Altima.

I know the guy who designed it from one of the Australian forums and he's never been bothered by it before.

Nissan Australia have already stated that it's going to be a brand new model launched in 2012. The new Altima is launching at the New York Motor Show in April.

Status quo remains the same with Jamie Whincup winning the first race after passing FPR's Will Davison who was running out of fuel on the last lap.

To be fair Whincup really lucked into that one. He wasnt doing his usual run-away-with-it victory. That might be tomorrow :pac:

Great to see an FPR 1-2 in the 2nd race yesterday and long may that continue to be the way of things for season 2012!

I'm a big GM /Holden fan but I have to say I'm glad to see Ford getting back on the podium. Last year really was a one sided affair and having one manufacturer win everything is bad for the sport. Look at WRC for example..
Nissan joining can only be good for the sport too. It is definitely the best motor racing you can watch on TV these days.
Anyway, I'll still be shouting for Lownes and Tander this year. Anyone have any idea when Motors TV are showing Adelaide? Is there anyway of watching the races live over here??

It will be shown on Motors TV from this weekend, 2 x one hour highlights of each of the 250km races.

I watched the Sydney races live on the V8 Supercars website last year but that may have been just a one off.

Yea, the Sydney Telstra 500 is generally shown specially, since it's the last event of the season and they go out with a bang :D

Downloaded both races last night and watched the start of the 1st Adelaide race on the bus into work this morning. Looking forward to watching the rest of the two races over the next few days.

You have to start somewhere to get that pedigree! Remember at one stage Red Bull were just some midfield team (and thats being generous) in F1.

True but wondering a bit why not use some of sports chassis like Skyline (Infinity G35 or R35 GT-R) or Z.. or even Juke GT-R  :P

I presume to be allowed into the series they would have had to enter a large 4dr salloon with a V8 engine and RWD.

Jamie Whincup has signed a long term deal with Team Vodafone bringing him up to the end of the 2014 season:

All the rumours of him heading Stateside were just that.

judging by his pace in ADELAIDE i'm not suprised, i was pretty impressed.:)

Yeah, he has been frightfully consistent since the start of 2008 and would've won 4 championships in a row only for untypical reliability problems in 2010 when 888 ran a Commodore for the first time.

Surprise surprise he's on pole for the Australian GP races that start tomorrow!

3 wins from 4 for FPR with Mark Winterbottom taking the win in the qualifying race and the first main race at the Australian GP meet this morning.

The final two races to be held in Hamilton this weekend with the V8 circus going back to one of my favourites next year (Pukekohe, not 100% confirmed yet though).

Will FPR and 888 keep up their super early season form or will the likes of SBR/HRT/GRM/Kelly Racing step up to the plate?

Would love to see The Giz win another race on his home patch.
