It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I was wondering does anyone know if you are currently a post grad and you received a grant including maintenance last year would you still qualify for the maintenance if you transfer from a masters programme to a ph.d one but you have not received any award after the first year?!

    Hey.
I have already paid my €2000 registration fee at the start of the summer and got a letter of the cork vec today after a hell of a long time. But on it it says

    Award Amount: 50% Student Contribution
    Fees: Undergraduate Student Contribution €1,000*

So does this mean i get €1000 and what the hell is the 50% or is it just telling me I got half and Im only going to get €1000.

I don't fully understand - are you already one year into the phd?

Hi, I'm doing a FETAC level 5 at the moment, planning on going onto a level 8. I currently am getting a full maintenance grant but was wondering will I still be able to apply for it in August because I've already recieved it once but I'm moving on to a higher course?

Yes you can apply because you are progressing up a level

I am one year into a research masters but the college allows you to transfer to the phd in your second year if you have enough for a phd thesis. I was wondering though because of changes to the post grad grants if i swap to the phd will they say I don't qualify for the maintenance grant?
