whats your budget. get a 1.4 tdci diesel fiesta if you can. should be cheap to insure and tax is cheap enough. at least this way when your so young and probably wont have a heap of money fuel bills wont be as high as an equivilant petrol

That's not really a budget as such. Just find any car with nct and hope for the best

Have you factored in the 2000~ insurance on top of that? No offence, but running a car is expensive business. And that counts for any car.

cheapest possible insurance for a 600 priced car, Ill be looking in to getting second insurance under my mam she has a full licence been driving for years.

Get a few firm insurance quotes before you even start looking for a car.

At that level Nct is important, its by no means a guarantee of a good car, but at least you don't have to prepare a strange car for a test that could unearth any number of problems

Toyota Starlet with NCT until the end of the year:

might not be great for insurance a fiesta would probably be better but a small car with 500 euro is bound to be a shed. Starlet would probably be the best choice for close to 500.

Could be sold and the seller just hasn't updated the advert. Cheap motoring for someone though.

I would go for a Polo, you should be able to get one with some NCT with your budget. Cheap to tax and insure as well.

OP I'd reconsider the budget a bit. Even if you have to wait a couple of months to save a bit more, as most cars for that price will be heaps of crap.

If I were you I would get a few insurance quotes for a few different cars and work from there. Think Polos, Corsas, Fiestas etc.

Think about the cost of tax, insurance, tyres, servicing and fuel for a year. Add it up and divide by 52. Can you afford to spend this every week?

I think there may be issues with insurance loading's on cars older than 10 years also. Safety ratings and too easy for the scum to steal would spring to mind..
