Desire HD display gone

    Was wondering did anybody else have this issue.

    Just happened now. I was adding the power widget to the screen and the display just went. The buttons are lit up but the screen is black. When I take the battery out and in, the phone gets as far as the HTC Quietly Brilliant splash and then the screen goes black.

    It got a soaking about 6 months ago but I dried it out and it was fine. Could it be something to do with that?

    It doesn't appear to be taking calls either.

    Anybody had this issue before?

    take it into an authorised repair shop... you may have corrupt firmware or a loose screen connector.

    It came back briefly (and went again) last night and I could see that it had put itself into airplane mode which Must explain the calls going to voice mail.

    A factory reset got it working again.

    Bit embarrassing as I didn't realize you could do a factory reset without going through the screen menu (hold volume down key and hit power button and use the option that appear on the screen) and when I did that, it started working fine again.
