One Day races in the Munster/Connacht Region

    Hi Guys,

Trying to get a handle on one day races in the Munster/South Connacht region in the next 3 months. Was checking the calendar but not too much jumping out at me. Am aware of the races the next two Sunday's in Broadford and Caherconlish but after that not seeing much ? Some questions.

I did a race in whitechurch, cork couple of years ago around May. Is that running this year and when ?

Is there a one day around Blarney in the next 3 months ?

Did a one day in Charleville last year early enough in year, cannot find it on calendar either. Is it running ?

Any one days close to Galway city ?

Finally, trying to figure out what I can enter. Got a club competition license for this year and plan on getting a one day for the few races I'll probably enter. Have done 3 A4's in past (and a fair bit of club racing) but that's it. If I see a race that doesn't have an A4 but does have an A3 will I be stopped from entering if I turn up ?

    Thanks, any answers appreciated, Paul.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of this one and its comparatively easy for me to get to (living in west clare).

Nice to see a lot of web based information too, many races seem to have little online info and leave you wondering about where you register (you can tell the province alright), start times, routes.

Anyone doing the Cycling Pursuits race this weekend ?
Here's a report on last years event, I believe there's a bit of climbing involved ;)

This was my first race ever last year. I got shelled out the back quickly.

This is a truly stunning and tough parcours. The atmosphere was very very friendly and encouraging.
Marshalling was superb, particularly on fast descents with blind corners. Good crowd and support.

I would love to do this but am unfit and inbed sick. I did three races plus a hamper race last year, but this was the best even though I got shelled in this very quickly.

Boege - I hope ye have a great sunny day again this year. Best of luck. I would encourage any novice racer to do this.

Thanks ROK ON, I did it last year. I was also shelled out the back early on and I think we may have been with each other for a while. Were you in subtle attire?;)

The gradual downhill section into Broadford is a unique section of road race cycling IMHO. I was doing 60kph on a compact, completly out of gears with people going past like I was stoped.

To be honest all credit goes to Liam Collins. He is a one man show in Munster cyling and without him Munster cycling would be the lesser.

Weather looking OK, temperatures will be down but it looks like it will be dry.
