Lastolite Collapsible Backdgrounds - Anyone got one?

    Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has a Lastolite collapsible backdrop (preferably one with a train) or has used one at all.

I have the Hilite. I like the Hilite. It works and there's no messing around with it.

Yesterday I picked up the Lastolite 67CA.

I've only had it a day, but have had nothing but hassle so far. It folds down grand and it fits in it's case and all, but it refuses to hold it's shape when it stands up. It's supposed to be 6x7ft in size, but natrually it seems to prefer raising to about 8.5ft tall, which causes it to be unstable and keeps trying to fold in on itself.

Lastolite have a stand for it (Lastolite 1116) but I don't have that (waiting for it to arrive). All it does is clip onto the top of the backdrop and holds it steady.

So whilst waiting for that to come, I've tried imitating it with a light stand. Despite the lightstand holding onto the backdrop fine, the backdrop still insists on being really weak and refusing to hold it's shape.

I've run my hands around the edges of it to feel for creases or folds in the frame, but there doesn't seem to be any.

Just wondering if this is the norm for these? Or is mine faulty or something?

Hard to believe the same company that produced this made the Hilite.

    Cheers :)

Sometimes the edges go a bit funny even in the Hilite so I run my hand around till it pops straight, takes a few goes

Well I'm aware the steel can 'twist' out of place, but generally when that happens, it can't lie flat on the ground. My backdrop can.

Can't figure it out. Pain in the ass.
