Very good show, though ye should probably aim for later in the week so ye know the teams for the upcoming games. A minor niggle.

BTW regarding Mike's point about Strettle's try, downward pressure is not a pre-requisite.
    22.1 GROUNDING THE BALL
There are two ways a player can ground the ball:
    (a) Player touches the ground with the ball. A player grounds the ball by holding the ball and touching the ground with it, in in-goal. ‘Holding’ means holding in the hand or hands, or in the arm or arms. No downward pressure is required.

    (b) Player presses down on the ball. A player grounds the ball when it is on the ground in the in-goal and the player presses down on it with a hand or hands, arm or arms, or the front of the player’s body from waist to neck inclusive.

It's a catch 22 really, we can only do the show on Tuesdays or Thursdays because of Dave's other commitments.

Tuesday means the games we review are more fresh in our minds, plus more people can listen to the show before its content becomes obsolete/irrelevant.

Thursday, as you say, means we will have or have a better idea of the teams. However with a Thursday night show, we aren't able to publish it until Friday afternoon. So by the time the majority of people listen, the games we are looking ahead to have been played.

Rather the earlier in week kick off myself, I always felt with Friday night getting the show I didn't get a chance to listen till the end of weekend/Monday and then was a week behind more or less on games. Great show again guys

The general format of the show is:

    a) Review of last weekends games
    b) Preview of next weekends games
    c) Coverage of media and/or general topics
    d) Bet of the week

    (b) and particularly (d) are compromised by having them early in the week as there is no team news/odds

What would people think of having 2 shorter shows?

Tuesday covering a review of games and a quick look forward to the weekend
Thursday with the detailed preview, other stuff and bet of the week

Obviously, it would mean extra work for ye guys, especially Dave, to get the shows out. But if ye all came to a decision internally to make two shows, I would certainly listen.

Personally I would love 2 shows because they are great to listen to in car or in gym, get strange looks in gym when laughing away while listening......

IMO 2 shows is overkill. It would mean a lot of work for Dave and a lot more effort organising people etc. In theory it's a great idea but in practice I just think it's too much effort. Perhaps we could trial it for one week and see what the reaction is like but I personally don't see it as a runner.

I think what we're doing is enough.

I like the idea of the two shows, however if I'm not mistaken Tues & Thur are when they are recorded, available Wed & Fri.

As posted above have to check how Dave O'G would manage.

We've discussed and unfortunately 2 shows per week isn't possible for the forseeable future. However hopefully we might trial it at some stage before the end of the season, perhaps between HEC Final and the domestic finals.

tbh, 1hr is a huge time commitment for a lot of people to listen to it.

2 30min shows would be far more accessible.

You could always listen to a one hour show in two sittings ;).

Maybe segment the show but keep it as one file?

    30 minutes to International Rugby
    Interval of 10 seconds
    30 minutes of club rugby

We have the timetable put up in the description every week so I don't see the need for an interval.

    Its a podcast, folks.
If you can't listen to it in one sitting, try listening to it in maybe, I dunno . . . two or more?
    ;)

Well done, Alan and Co, by the way. I enjoy listening to them. Don't agree with everything said mind but hey, sånn er livet.

Will try and hook up when Six Nations is finished. Has been just too busy lately.

I've only listened to a bit of one eqisode. The reason being that when someone was saying something I disagreed with or thought was wrong I couldn't correct him like I would if he had just posted on boards instead. As I know the contributors are on boards the listening experience was like reading boards but having no keyboard to contribute!

Ha true, if we broadcast it live you could text in or mail in. We only need a radio station / media company to come on board and pay us for it!
