My phone got wet in the rain today. It still turns on but the touch screen won't work. I have taken out the battery and letting it dry. What are the changes of it working again

As soon as a phone/similar gets wet rip out the battery and LEAVE IT OUT. dont try testing it after a few hours. Leave it in a warm dry place(hot press) for at least three days(back off, sim/sd out etc). If there's water inside the case then one tiny droplet can destroy everything. Then try it.

Also try a bowl of rice.

Cheers for the replies. Still working when I turn it on, receiving text. But still now touch screen movement. Should I wait longer and if not can I get this fixed

At least 3 days was recommended on this very thread

Just to add to this that my phone got a good soaking and i got it working again by getting it out of the water quickly and removing the SIM, SD Card and Battery. I then packed it in dry rice and left it in the hot press for 3 days and didn't try and switch it on again.

Worked after that except for the volume up switch which started working again a few weeks later.

take battery out, stick it in a bag of rice in the hot press for a few days. If it doesn't work then, it's toast I'm afraid
