So you're looking for good offers as opposed to good beers! ;)

There's 8x Carlsberg, Amstel, Guinness, Fosters in Dunnes in Athlone for €10. €12 for 8x Heineken.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 342 ✭✭andersat2

I think the best this week is supervalu:
    8 x 500ml cans Heineken = 8 Euro
    8 x 500 ml cans Guinness = 8 Euro.

    Tesco
8 x 568 bottles Stella Artois Cidre = 8 Euro (cheaper than in UK)

If you think Corrs is worth drinking then you're obviously so young, I'd suggest you run away, but what can I do.

    interesting!

    whats this Cidre ?
Is it simply like magners or is it like proper britanny/ normandy produced Cidre (that you get in champagne type bottles over there)

At that price I can save the bother of buying it in france on the way to Ireland in the car if its what it proports to be.

    Great cider from Stella.
Kind of Magners style of ciders - light crispy taste, but not like Normandie style of cider of course.

I beg to differ. I thought it had a sickly sweet taste with a strangle treacly-like consistency and which made one pint of stuff more than plenty for me.

24x500ml cans of bud €24.00 in tesco kinnegad may be all tesco's

normal magners type cider makes me want to gag (i.e. get sick) but for some reason the French stuff is much more palatable

I'll be avoiding that stella deal the next time im in supervalue for cans so!

Not spotted any, seems to be very few offers on it since they switched to the 355ml bottles. I was thinking with the Corona light launch a few weeks ago there would have been loads of offers.

Yeah, in the one in Rathgar anyway. There were plenty there last Friday. Probably all snaffled up by now, as a guy working there said they were flying off the shelf.

O'Haras for 2.99 in Superquinn is brutal value.
You won't find a worse deal.
Even small offies sell them for 2.50.
Tesco is better at 2.09 standard price.

And then there's Aldi who do the O"Sheas which is actually O'Hara's under a different name, for 1.80 a bottle.
Any you're an supporting Irish brewer too

Actually the 2.50 price in small offies is only for buy 4 for a tenner.
I saw it that price in Whelans and Jack Carvills on Camden St.
Tesco have both Stout and Red Ale for 2.09 here in Dublin, I think the extra stout is closer to 2.60 or 2.70 alright

These beers used to be 6 for €12 and that was great value...i see the usual irish logic to something thats good value is to change it around just enough to confuse the punter while at the same time squeeze a few cent out of them.
