Many of you will know or will have come across Ian Gallagher over the years.
He was a founding member of Dublin Wheelers and was also one of our top commisaires at home and abroad. As recently as a few years ago he was one of the commisaires on the RAS and continued to officiate at many races up to recently.
He was an absolute gentleman who loved cycling.
    RIP

Just seen this from Ciaran in Dublin Wheelers
"As a mark of respect to the late Ian Gallahar, whose death has just been announced, the open races scheduled for Summerhill on Sat 03-Mar have been cancelled."

Really sorry to hear the sad news. Ian was a gentleman to his
fingertips, and was a great help to me, when I was racing, organising races and
commissairing. He will be sadly missed.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Ian Gallahar.

Met him first in 2003 when he was appointed as chief commissaire for the National TT champs I was one of the organsers of. Professional, friendly and knowledgeable, he was everything a nervous organiser needed!

Only bumped into him a few times since but I note the most common word in all of the tributes is "gentleman". That was certainly my experience of him.

Condolences to his family & friends.

Very sad news. I always found him to be very fair and in control.

Irish cycling has suffered a great loss. The volunteers are the true legends of irish cycling.
