WWE Friday Night Smackdown for March 2
    Seattle, Washington

    1. Sheamus cuts a promo on his WrestleMania XXVIII opponent and homestate here, World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. Dolph Ziggler (who was just destroyed by Kane on RAW) and Vickie Guerrero interrupt. Monster heat for Guerrero. Smackdown GM Teddy Long comes out and books Sheamus vs. Ziggler. Looks like Ziggler is jobbing yet again. Has he even won a match since Royal Rumble?
    2. Sheamus def. Dolph Ziggler (w/ Vickie Guerrero) in a damn good match. Ziggler is the most talented young performer in WWE today and perhaps all of wrestling as far as rising stars go.

    3. We had a backstage segment with RAW Interim GM John Laurinaitis and Smackdown GM Teddy Long bitching at each other. Next week, Laurinaitis will run Friday Night Smackdown, while Long gets control of RAW. This storyline sucks, but Santino Marella and David Otunga are hilarious!
    4. Santino Marella def. Heath Slater. COBRA!

    5. Divas: Eve Torres def. Natalya Neidhart.

    6. Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes cut a promo bashing Big Show. Show chased him out of the ring. Teddy Long booked Rhodes vs. Show for the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania XXVIII.
    7. Big Show def. Mark Henry. Henry looked strong throughout the match until Big Show hit him with the knockout shot.

    8. Justin Gabriel def. Drew McIntyre.
    9. Teddy Long fired Drew McIntyre.

    10. Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton ended in an apparent no contest. Excellent crowd heat and dueling chants. Orton got a huge pop.
Kane came out to confront Orton as Bryan and AJ Lee ran away like hell. Orton and Kane brawled. Kane welcomed Mr. RKO back with a chokeslam. So much for Zack Ryder's revenge against Kane at WrestleMania....Looks like it's Kane vs. Orton at WrestleMania instead. Very good match until Kane hell, fire, and brimestoned things up.

Think Bryan beat Kofi by tapout on Raw a few months ago other than beating Santino thats all he's won. I was worried that Orton would be added to the Sheamus vs Bryan match now he'll take on Kane and that Table. Lets hope McIntyre starts going somewhere from now

If there is no MITB match at Mania where will the likes of Ziggler and Kofi fit in?

A thrown together Tag Team Title match? with Truth/Kofi vs Epico/Primo vs Swagger/Ziggler

maybe involved with the tag titles like on raw, does Swagger have a possible opponent yet either?

    Miz also has nothing yet!

There has been a lot of talk of an all former champions MITB match this year. Notice how a lot of these guys are former World champions (plus Kofi)? Miz, Swagger, Ziggler, sneak Kofi in and you only need two more for the old style MITB match. Are Del Rio and Christian doing anything? Mark Henry too. If Mysterio is back he can be number eight (Otherwise they could throw Khali in :pac: ).

Easy enough to fill the match up unless some of them are busy.

If the Teddy Long/John Laurinaitis storyline ends with Santino v Otunga at 'Mania, I'm gonna be pretty annoyed. Also kinda disappointed it'll probably be Kane v Orton, unless they will continue having Kane attack people at random.

Kane/Orton doesn't interest me remotely tbh unless Kane's career is on the line.

Sucks for Orton because a match with a guy like Ziggler would have given any match a run for its money in terms of quality.

they just did that on RAW on Monday night.
Alot of potential WM matches have been done as throwaways on RAW/SD recently

After Drew McIntyre was “fired” by Teddy Long during the Smackdown tapings, it seems as if John Laurinaitis will rehire him when he runs Smackdown next week. Laurinaitis posted the following today to Twitter:

I’ve always felt @TheDrewMcIntyre is an asset to @WWE. I discovered him. He’ll go far, as soon as @GMSmackDown is gone

A match that was teased at the Smackdown tapings, involving David Otunga and Great Khali, will go down on Monday’s episode of RAW that Teddy Long will be running.

I think he only won clean in the two PPVs. His only pin/submission was the submission on Santino in the chamber.

Would have been nice to see Bryan and Punk alternate victories instead of all the silly endings. Guess they are keeping that for later in the year.

No sign of Del Rio and Christian yet

Show could wear the title around his wrist

The Big Show certainly has a very impressive list of titles on his CV, the Intercontinental Championship seems like the only major American title of the last 15 years missing (Barring the TNA Heavyweight Title, maybe in 5 years!)

That Ziggler Sheamus match was great. Best I've seen from Sheamus in ages. A lot to do with Zigglers work no doubt.

Kane vs Aksana on Smackdown next week. WWE you are spoiling us. Thought it was a good enough show, Booker was just rabbiting on in the main event wasn't he.

    Smackdown was good.

I have no idea why but Big Show v Mark Henry always turns out to be a good match.

Bryan continues to excel at everything he does. Orton has improved so much this last couple of years.

I am not sure why WWE have put Ziggler and Henry in the jobber positions leading to mania, it doesn't seem right.

I have no idea whats going on with Drew.

Long term I don't think wwe has a clue where its going after Mania. The two top matches won't have rematches @ Over the Limit or whatever is the next ppv after Mania is called. I'm starting to think that if Bryan vs Sheamus don't get started proper with their feud that its destined to be on very early at Mania. Where the hell are Alberto & Christian btw, maybe they'll surface again next week.

EVERY SINGLE POP WAS THE SAME.

Yeah its pure obvious cause any long term fan can here that Yaaah in their head and the boo's for Bryan where clearly added in. I'd love if they accidently played cheers when funk man announced Kane vs Aksana next week.

Santino would have been the better option to feud with Cody imo
