Hi, hoping someone can help me with a couple of questions I have that I can't seem to find the answers to online.I'm due my baby in a few months.I'm in full time employment but if I was to leave my job after my maternity leave ended would I have to wait the 9 weeks to receive JSB?Also, if I left would I be liable for paying back my maternity pay to my employers for not returning to work or is this a contractual matter? Thanks

if its in your contract with your employer, then yes. it was where i worked and they did chase former employees.

you may have to wait 9 weeks alright, when you sign on they will ask why you are unemployed.

Yeah see I don't wanna give up work,I'd rather go part time or at least have my hours changed but my employers are about as flexible as steel so I haven't a hope. Realistically speaking I would have more money stayin at home to raise the child and my partner goin out to work. Because of where I work it means massive cummuter and childcare costs but none for my partner. I would still be eligible for JSB as I would actually be lookin for work, just part time instead of full time.

In order to be eligible for jsb you have to be looking for full time work.
