There is a knocking in the front left when I turn right at low speed. I have had te bushes changed and it's been up on a rack. and the garage can't find anything. Anyone have any ideas?

    Sounds like the CV joint.

Look from underneath and see if the CV boot is split.

Sounds like your CV joint needs to be done.

If it only when turning then you may be looking at a CV joint, but this noise should be easily recognisable by a mechanic.

Apologies for the multiple posts. Something wierd going on with boards.ie there for a while. If a mod could delete them, I would be grateful.

    i'd also go with the
Constant-velocity joints (aka homokinetic or CV joints)

I'd say it's the flux capacitor. Either that or a cv joint.

We should establish that the car actually has front drives before confirming that its the cv joint. I find it hard to believe that anybody who has ever left a spanner on a bicycle could fail to diagnose a cv joint so strong possibility that its something else.

It's a 02 Laguna. Mechanic can't find what the noise is. I assume he would have checked the cv first thing

Its worrying how many people...even mechanics who would just check the CV boot and if its ok will then say the joint must be ok.

Can your mechanic not replicate the noise? I.e drive the car himself or have you drive it and listen to the noise?
