Rear brake light

Rear brake light currently not working. I replaced the bulb, checked the fuse, scraped away the minor corrosion from the plug into the tail light. Wiring looks in tact from what I can see. Bulb definitely making contact as I raised it up.

    Other rear lights are working.
The tail light was full of condensation, so I brought it inside and let it dry out.

I don't know what else to do..?

With it plugged out can you check if you have power coming down to it.

Is it the left, centre or right brake bulk that is not working? The left and centre are fused but the right hand one is not. Also is yours a hatch back?

I don't have anything to check the power coming into it.

Yes it's a hatchback, and the left & centre lights are fused together. The centre light is working.

The centre light is working then. But is it the left or right that is not working then?(not really clear) I'll take a guess and say the right is not working. But let me know if its not as the circuit is different for both. If its the right hand side is not working check wire 264(its numbered near the connector). When the brakes are pressed you should be getting power down to it. Your going to have to get a multimeter or a circuit tester. Also it might be wise to check and see does the new bulb actually work. Stick it on the other side and see. Pointless striping down stuff if not needed.

Sorry, I thought I mentioned it.. It's the left light.

Definitely not the bulb, I tried 3 bulbs (both new ones & the working one from RHS light).

So this is what we know:
    1)The bulbs are good
2)The rest of the lights are ok so that means its not a broken earth wire.
3)Its not the fuse because the centre one is working fine.
    4)The bulb is in contact.

Right so as said above just try get yourself a multimeter(try Argos and bring it back under the 14 day money back guarantee;)). Check for power when brakes are pressed on pin 6 of the plug, wire number 2101.

If there is power you may have corrosion somewhere or the bulb holder is faulty. If there is no power coming down you have a break in the wire. Has your car a hitch? Any dodgy scotch lock jobs done on it?
