I'm thinking of taking the ferry across to Pembroke and cycling on to Cardiff. Anyone cycled this route? What's it like?

I think there is a trail that runs from Pembroke to Cardiff called the Celtic trail, I may even continue to London, I'm not sure. Along the coast from pembroke to Cardiff would be nice, spend a bit of time on the gower peninsula near Swansea, it's bloody lovely.

There is and it's signposted the whole way, I can't remember the route number though.

Looks like it may be a combination of a couple of rides, take a look around the Sustrans webpage and you'll probably find what you're looking for.

Here are the two for the Celtric trail which wil take you from Pembroke Dock to Chepstow (by the old Severn Bridge, so a bit further on than you need).

Very tempted to do this myself as I know that area quite well.

Thanks for the Sustrans links, those routes look great!

Has anyone gone onwards to London? Have the germ of a plan to cycle to the London Olympics this summer, probably from Fishguard or Pembroke...

We did the Holyhead to Chepstow and then the Bristol to Thames route. It is possible to then head down to London along the Thames.

Both are very good and there is a Sustrans app now too, it isnt great.
