I have a tablet, an Archos G9 80. When I come here, it automatically goes to touch.boards.ie. I don't want that, the screen is big enough for the normal layout. Is there any way to force it to use the normal site, and not the mobile site? And is there a way so I can decide differently for each site?

mobile boards is rubbish, my galaxyS2 could deal with the full site comfortably.

I dont know if this will work for you but works on my SGS2

go to the address bar on your browser and type about:useragent

this should bring up a list of defaults, change to desktop

Different browsers have different ways to set it. For the stock browser:

    -Open browser
-Type "about:debug" in the address bar - press "go" Nothing will happen, this will only enable more options in the menu
-go to menu -> more -> settings
    -scroll down to "UAString"
    -Select "desktop"

Not answering the OP I know, but I think the touch interface us great. I wish more site would do something like this instead of making an app. There's one app that can do about 50% of what's on the market, its called Browser! :-)

I've a Xoom with ICS. Those options are there alright. However when you change it to Desktop it says something like the Android Desktop UA (something like that) as it should. I think sites like Boards don't recognise that and default back to mobile.

The hack is to install something like Dolphin and use its Desktop user agent. On the phone its desktop UA reports itself as Safari 5.0. So web masters think they're getting more Safari hits but at least they recognise that user agent and give the desktop version of the site.
