Just acquired a mixing desk. Problem is, it doesn't have any phantom power. Are there any good phantom power supply units out there? Is there much difference between them? Would a more expensive one sound any better than a cheaper one? Afterall they are only dealing with adding a power supply along the cable? Or am i completely wrong?

Anyway, i had a quick look online and found ones that allow you to power two devices. Are there ones that allow you to power more? Any brand that have good ones?

There's no difference in sound as long as the thing puts out the right voltage (too little reduces headroom and thereby increases noise), and has enough current (too little causes some mics to hum).

How many mics/ DIs requiring phantom power do you have? Are batteries an option in any of them? What's your budget? What's the desk? Unless it was almost free, I would consider getting something else entirely. Lack of phantom does not bode well for sound quality.
