The Toshiba Satellite Z830-10J is pretty cool, getting good reviews too.

To be honest all the ultrabooks seem to be let down by something in comparison to the air.

Its usually a lower res screen with poor contrast and viewing angles on a lot of them. Asus screen is supposed to be decent enough but trackpad is hit and miss, keyboard is very shallow apparently and not back lit.

Latest entry to the ultrabook world is the Samsung linked below. Very pricey though. I'd wait for a good few reviews before parting with all that cash!

Most comprehensive reviews arw usually on http://www.notebookcheck.net/Reviews.55.0.html

I wasnt won over by any of the ultrabooks myself and Im not gonna get a MBA either.

Mac Air is still an incredibly solid, well constructed body. I'm almost sold on one for that reason alone. And the charger port, MagSafe, which isn't going to break like a standard laptop's internal female port.

The internal battery is shared by most or all the ultrabooks. Then its just down to spec. But Macs seem to run alright for themselves even when configured below the standard spec of a PC. Oddly.

I have to agree, I was considering an ultrabook when they came out...but there's none that tick all the boxes. Mac Air looks like a good bet.

"Apple exclusively owns US Patent No. 7311526 ("Magnetic connector for electronic device", issued in 2007) and does not license the MagSafe connector or the patent."

Jerks. (I get asked that a lot)
