i need some advice. my parents have been split quite a while now, almost 7 years.they never admitted they were split even to this day. anyway the problem that seems to be prevalent is that one gets jealous of the other if i shw more attention to the order. this results in one of them sulking mainly my father or one being excessively nice, maily my mother. this has had a massive impact on my emotional well being and i have stopped being around them since the split. i've noticed that i have my relationship with people has been affected by this and im unable to have the simplest conversation with anyone. ive developed depression as a result and im pretty much a loner. i dont want to be a loner but i am afraid that i will be ridiculed if i attempt to look after my own well being. wtf should i do?

OP put yourself first and look after both your emotional well being and your mental health. Those aspects of yourself are most important for you to be happy.

The issues with sulking or being excessively nice are your parents' issues they have, and they are not a reflection of you. You can only really keep yourself from being drawn in and getting caught in a crossfire of competition between them (even subconscious acts that sway you either one way or the other to either parent) and emotional issues they have with themselves and live your own life.

Have you talked to anyone about how you feel? GP, Samaritans, counseling?
