Hey, last Wednesday I had an EDT, and well I forgot to ask this to my ADI, so will ask here, basically I started the ignition and pushed accelerator somehow that way so when I brought clutch a bit up the car literally freely with absolutely no over revving sounds went forward very fast and I was able to switch to 2nd gear in like a second, what happened there? did I put accelerator too much? Also I liked that start and move off, is it okay or too dangerous and damages car? btw car I was in was toyta yaris.

It sounds like you just gave it some beans and released the clutch in one fluid motion. That's the way to do it really!

Just to clarify though, you started the car with the clutch depressed and in neutral, and then went ahead and put the car in gear and moved off?

No, I always start with clutch being fully pressed and in neutral, once car starts I switch to 1st gear.

I'm sure that if your ADI had an issue with how you moved off he or she would have brought it to your attention there and then

Well yeah he didn't say anything, all he said just make sure when I do that, that there is no car in front.
