Is Picasa Web Albums a good alternative to flickr?

    I really don't have the cash to re-new my flickr account, so I'm looking for other options. I'm just fiddling around with Picasa web albums now, but before I delve too deep, maybe somebody could refer me to a better free site... Thanks.
