    Hi guys,

    I lost my job at Christmas and also finished college at the same time. I've been unemployed for the past 2 months and I made a claim for JSA/JSB in the first week on January. It has been about 7 weeks now and my application is still not complete. I've met an inspector and sent all the forms required off.

    Last week I had an interview and eventually got the job. However the work doesn't start until March (date not confirmed yet)

    What I'm wondering is, am I still entitled to my backpayments (January+February) even if my claim isn't proccessed until say...April some time, (when at the time I will have started working)

    I'm sorry if that was a bit confusing.
    I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

    If you qualify for a payment then yes you will be paid from the date of your claim up to the time you begin work. Let the office know when you are starting work and any monies due to you can be sent by cheque or to your bank account.
