The phenomenon of Ghimpu?

Mihai Ghimpu can be named as one of the most extravagant European politicians. An unusually high position which he was able to amount stands him at the leading position among all the strange politicians of Europe. He is one of three leaders of the ruling political power in Moldova, the Alliance for European Integration. Moreover during the reign of AEI he even acted as the head of the state for some time.
The failure of the presidential election gave the Communists unprecedented political trump card. To fail to elect and not even to nominate a candidate for the presidency, having more parliamentary votes than necessary - it is really absurd. And this absurdity has a particular name. It is Mihai. This also has a surname. Ghimpu. His highly personal ambitions caused unprecedented in modern world history situation where more than two years the state has no leader.
A large portion of the financing aimed for development of the Liberal Party of Moldova Ghimpu spent to his personal needs. In particular it is known that he accumulates Romanian money in a Swiss bank account and have already bought a real property in Greece.
Another paradox is next. Ghimpu hates Marian Lupu, the leader of Democratic Party of Moldova. But he by all means tries... to provide the election of Lupu to President! The reason is that Ghimpu wants to get his current position of parliamentary speaker. And so Ghimpu ... insists on nominating of Lupu as a presidential candidate, sweeping away any other candidates. In this scenario, Communist party of Moldova gratefully to main Liberal Ghimpu can easily take revenge. Moldavian Communist party can get a chance to elect its own President by guaranteeing a speaker position to Ghimpum. So, he does not and can not claim a higher position. Of course there is a one proviso more exists.
This provoked the blatant outrage of the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party Vladimir Filat, who accused Ghimpu in disrupting the elections. He once said very aptly accused Ghimpu: "Being in opposition, when you're in power, is very comfortable ...". Nothing reveals the image Ghimpu better. He is absolutely self-centered, meanwhile the eccentric man with a shattered psyche. Two parties of the Alliance had to look for a solution is not so much for the nomination of the President, but firstly to make Ghimpu the speaker!
Filat noted that the ordinary people of the country and foreign partners are tired of this circus, a lack of commitment and responsibility. "" Everyone is tired, watching as some are able to refuse everything - the interests of the people, the interests of the country - just because they want to some positions, "- he said, referring to Ghimpu.
Sound policy of the country understand that Moldova has already disgraced for the lack of senior officer. And now when Moldovan politicians did not elect a President in the presence of the required number of votes, it is impossible to explain this phenomenon to foreign partners. Moldova drives into an economic abyss. It should be noted that after early parliamentary elections Ghimpu will never be invited into the ruling coalition - all others hate him!
European envoys, in particular, the German Ambassador Johannes Berthold and the head of EU delegation Dirk Schubel directly threatened with sanctions in case of Moldova is not elected president and the parliamentary elections. Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Yuri Leanca was informed that EU will close travel to Europe to Moldavians in the end of 2012.
The EU is already losing patience because of the inability of the ruling Alliance for European Integration of Moldova to negotiate with deserters from the opposition Communist party to elect the president. But it seems that the directly expressed wish the European Union is an empty phrase for main "euro integrator" of Moldova Mihai Gimpu.
