    Hi Guys & Gals,

    Appreciate if any of you could help me on this one.

    My friends laptops hard drive was completely corrupt after he downloaded a virus, i tried looking at it along with another friend of mine and decided that best thing to do was buy a new hard drive and re-install.

    Bought the new HD for it and installed it no problem.

    However, this is where it starts to get problematic:

    After installing the new HD he decided to tell us he broke the Vista OS disc he had for it when he purchased it!

    So i installed my hard drive off a DELL Inspiron 6400, It seems to be working but cannot find all the Drivers i need to make it work with the Toshiba. e.g. the wireless doesnt work on it!!

    Questions

    1;
    Does anyone know what exact drivers i'd be able to install to get it back working 100%?

    2;
    Do i actually need the Toshiba OS he got with the laptop to install it properly? If so where can we get one?

    Appreciate all your help in advance fellow boardsies.

    Mickey

    1. To assist you with drivers it would be handy if you'd post the model of the Toshiba Laptop.

    2. Toshiba doesn't make operating systems, you're most likely talking about Microsoft Windows (wich version?) OEM.

    Vista 32-bit drivers for this laptop here.

    As for the installation disc from another manufacturer, if you can activate Vista with the license key from the COA sticker on the Toshiba then it's OK to use it. If the activation fails, you'll need either a generic Vista OEM disc or contact Toshiba support. Of course you'll have to install the version according to the COA sticker, most likely Vista Home Premium.

    I think most of your issues are covered by the above user and you should get everything sorted following there instructions but on the HDD it might be ok after a format check it out trying a clean install on it, using the laptop you have and select the format option and see what happens

    hopefully youll be able to sell for a few € depending on GB
