Phantom e-mail

    I am using Windows Live Mail and running Windows 7. When I open Windows Live Mail I get any e-mails that maybe waiting for me. Then about 20 mins later there will be the tone to announce the receipt of mail and the little yellow envelope appears, but there is never any e-mail ? My Norton isn't picking up anything untoward and the yellow envelope stays there until I get more mail and have them read. It just bugs me and was just wondering if anyone knew what was going on.

    Is it something coming in that then gets flagged as spam?

    No, Fionny, nothing is flagged or even in the spam folder. Absolutely no sign of an e-mail, really odd.
