    (correct answer: power).


    PS - my comment - I think this is bullsh1t as in reality transmission converts torque from the engine into different torque on the wheels. Power is complete different measure.

    I just needed a rant about all those questions from CPC booklet, as they don't really make sense, and this thread seems perfect for this rant.

    Torque at the engine is the same thing as torque at the wheels. It is the turning effect of a force. Power is the rate at which torque is produced. It is more useful to think of a transmission as an elaborate form of lever, where a set amount of force is made to do more/less over a longer/shorter time.

    That's right.
    So I assume you agree that statement that "The transmission system converts torque into power" is far away from true.
