Computer not recognising Iomega Screenplay media drive

    Hi all,

I have a 2Tb Iomega Screenplay with HDMI which I got last year. At the moment it is not being recognised by either of my laptops (one is W7, the other XP). The device is being powered externally by mains plug and when trying to connect to laptop the drive is on and can feel the disk spinning. I have tried in all USB ports in both laptops. Device manager is not showing anything up when plugged in. Nothing is happening at all. The USB ports are recognising other devices.

The device is fine being hooked up to the TV via HDMI. Have no problem playing files from it on the TV.

Please help as need to put some new stuff onto the drive.

    Cheers,

    Chris.

I know that my dads screenplay did sort of the same thing when you would go to put new media on it... just make sure you disconnect the cables - HDMI/composite etc - from the screenplay before plugging into usb on laptop.

So the only thing being plugged into the screenplay should be the usb cable and power supply.

Then turn on the power supply and give it a second or two and it should show up on your laptop.

    Hope this helps.

Have done that but no use. Any other suggestions?
