    hi all

A friend of mine just got celtic broadband in.

It reminds me of when i had wts then ice broadband a few years ago :-(

To watch a video on youtube require a lot of pausing and buffering and loading internet pages requires a lot of refreshing!

does anyone on here have celtic broadband?

from what i can find out they are using a smart telecom connection in Limerick.

ive included ping test and speed test results.

That's pretty shocking, are their no mobile broadband options in the area if there's no fixed line access.

    thanks for the reply.

the options for him i think are:

Wts: I had them before i would not be recomending them.
Celtic: his current provider, as you can see from above are usless
Munster Broadband: who have great reviews but i think he is on the very edge of the coverage map.
    Eircom: exchange not enabled
3g: no 3g signal out here

below is the link to celtic

ill have to get him to ring them tomorrow and see if they can sort it out.

I have them and find them very good after having previously been with wts and ripplecom before them

Anyone got any info on this or a screenshot of speeds please?

To be fair to Celtic our speeds have improved , see attached .

If you accept it for its limitations it is fine

That actually looks better than I expected ping wise. A bit of gaming might work ok with it. Thanks for the response

Just taken 5 minutes ago. I have them a year absolutely no problems. I Skype my brother in Aus regularly and he can't get over the quality of the pic vs. Eircom 3mb/0.3mb ADSL and we use apple TV and have no issues with it. These speed tests are handy but what will really tell you that these guys are good is when everyone is still on together and I have excellent broadband from 6pm onwards. Try that with any of the rest!:)

    Hi paulryanmini,
Mind be asking what package your on? I'm thinking switching, my current Wireless ISP is driving me mad with disconnections.
Are you on the 2Mb/s Down 1Mb/s Up? I'm think of getting the 8 Mb/s package and am curious to know how close to the proposed speeds you get. Whats their quality of service like, do you get many disconnections?

    We are on home elite.

The last few weeks we have been getting poor speeds at peak times but normally a quick call will sort this out so I must ring.

We get the odd bit of downtime but they are normally quick to fix it.
