Could anyone tell me how much it would cost to service a 2011 polo? I can't seem to find it on any website i've looked up. How long would it take for them to service it and would they offer me a replacement car for the time they're servicing the car? Cheers..

There was a similar thread on here recently where someone got one serviced in a dealer and it cost €160 or something like that which is a bit of a crazy price IMO.

However some VW dealers were offering a lube service for €99 which should cover everything needed on your car. I'm not sure if that offer is still available or not.

It is also worth remembering that you don't have to go to a dealer at all. You can get the service done by a good independent for approx €75 and your warranty will not be affected.

    Where are you located?

If you can get the €99 service offer from the dealer, I would do that. Its true that you dont have to go to the dealer for servicing but there is always the possibility that you might be looking for goodwill if you have a major issue just outside of warranty. If so, the dealer wont be too interested in making a case for you with the manufacturer if you have not been a service customer.
Also, any issue with independant servicing such as a poor quality oil filter etc, will viod your warranty.

I agree that if you can get it for €99 it is probably worth paying the extra €25 over the independent price as it will make life easier if you ever do need anything done under warranty.

I would also like to point out that some independents use genuine parts when servicing cars that are still under warranty ;)

Thanks for the replies. I'm based in south Dublin. I bought from Park motors on the Navan Road but there seems to be a volkswagen dealership closer to me on the Long Mile Road which has opened recently. I might get the car serviced there. My sister had the car the last couple of weeks and has racked up the mileage closer to the 1st service.

Ring around a few places and get some prices. Don't take the car anywhere that won't give you an up front quote telling you exactly what the cost will be. A service on a 2011 car should be as straightforward as it gets so if any garages start telling you they can't quote without seeing the car then just forget that place and move on.
