There is currently a group of people interested in starting a Hacker
Space / Maker Space in Drogheda . If anyone out there is living in the area (or has a passing interest) and would like to get involved, the following page
contains all contact details associated with the group

    Cheers,

Sounds like a good idea. Bit far for me to travel, but there is one Galway, so I might head in and have a look.

Any word on the next meeting? Also do you need any kind of skill to join in?

    Hi there,

Next meeting is planned for this Thursday, 8pm in the D Hotel Drogheda (in the bar area).
No skill required, just a general interest in technology old and new and a willingness to learn/teach new skills in this area.

And it doesnt have to be just computing/electronics related, the basic idea is to get people with different backgrounds- be it from I.T, Metalworking or Art sharing knowledge, with the goal of obtaining a permanent non-profit workshop where various projects can be worked on. If you are not too familiar with hackerspaces here is a good place to start.

Please feel free to pop along to the next meetup and join the mailing list:

    Cheers

Our first workshop will be on Sat 26/05 at Millmount in Drogheda. The Plan is to get together for a few hours to do some arduino hacking. Starting with some basic tutorials and then something more ambitious. Interested in popping along? then let us know!
