Just wondering, if I bought a Sky+ box off a private seller, if I set it up myself, can I use the record/pause live tv/etc ? Do I need to have it connected to internet or anything ? Have a standard box and am looking at upgrading to the + plus to be honest the cash flow is poor at the mo and don't want to pay 65 quid for a new box !

you need two feeds for the sky plus functions to work properly.also you would have to ring sky and ask them to pair your sky card to your new sky box

Two feeds ? Do I need this if I'm just replacing the old box rather than using the two ?

    yup as above.

as long as you are paying a sub to sky.

2 feeds allow you to watch one channel and record another ,
