    Got to be a really under rated film.
    Should be a staple in everyones collection.

    Its got everythng - comedy, good acting, love story, buddy move, great music and good ending.

    Top 5 for me at the moment, in no partcular order;
    White men cant jump, raging bull, mean streets, stuck on the last two of the moment.....

    Apparently Kubrick was a big fan of this film

    Just to pick up on one thing from the OP, never really took to Mean Streets, disappointing tbh. Love Martys work in general, just thought it was a let down. He obviously got great experience from it though.

    Great movie. I used to always think it was directed by Spike Lee for some reason.

    was a staple of my teenage basketball playing years, along with hoope dream, above the rim and...ahem, space jam. great movie. "you cant hear Jimmy!" "the whole band is white except for Jimmy!"

  • Great film apart from that rosie woman her voice !!!

    Fantastic film.... the best aspect of it, for me, was the fact that the b'ball scenes were completely realistic. Often in sport movies the 'sporting action' scenes can look rubbish but in WMCJ, they're fantastic.

    I think i remember reading that they cast Wesley Snipes in the role basically assuming he was good at basketball because he was black and he is far from good.

    Great film though........... "I can hear Jimmy!!!!!!!"

    Great chemistry from Woody and Wesley but my word I would love to punch Rosie Perez right in the ovaries. It does have a very Spike Lee feel to it.
    OP why didn't you just list your top 3 instead?

    For anyone with Sky Movies Modern Greats it's on today at 12.30 and again at 8 pm, what a classic film

    Watched it today and I think its rated exactly as it should be. Its funny as hell with the smack talk and the sports scenes are great but its not "all that" as they say. Repetitive viewings are warranted though if for the smack talk alone! :D
