Hi there! I was wondering if anyone out there knew how to remove slanderous material from the internet? The unfortunate thing is that the material isn't actually slanderous about me. By that I mean if it were then I would have grounds to sue. The article is about someone else, but I'm mentioned, and as there is a tag to my name now, whenever I am googled the article comes up. Potentially reputation ruining. So what do I do? yes, I've tried contacting their webmaster to no avail. Not budging. Is there anything I can do? Any really good hackers out there want to help a girl in distress? Just kidding;) but seriously, how do I get this crap off the web?

You'll have to somehow get through to the webmaster of the site. You haven't got much of an option. Google won't remove it, and the police won't, unless it's threatening, etc. Freedom of speech and all that.

Thanks for your comment. Thought the chances were slim that i'd really be able to do anything.

Removing something from the internet is like trying to remove pee from a swimming pool.

Not my line but I liked it. :)

Some Irish bloke did it there recently, brought it to the high court and all, now his name is plastered all over the net. Your best bet is to contact the webmaster of the particular site hosting it for removal, but tbh doing anything could make matters worse :)
