Do you or should you get a sick not from a doctor to excuse you from tutorials or lectures? If so should it be you're campus doctor or can it be your home doctor. I missed 4 days of college last week due to being sick and want to know if I should bother, will be going to a doctor. preferably my home gp

Reckon it depends. Were any of these lectures/tutes/labs worth any %? Were any midterms held or assignments due, or is there an overall attendance mark for your modules?

If the answer is no to all of those then you don't really have to I'd say.

All my tutorials are worth like 1% and i missed a 1% grammar test.W
Will a sick note from my own doctor do or will it have to be a campus doc

Home doctor should be fine...? Don't see why someone who's bunged up with a bad case of the flu in say, west Limerick, has to come into the campus doctor just for a sick note.

I don't know for certain, by the way.

It'll depend on the lecturer. Approach them and explain the situation, they'll let you know what they will require. Some will say that they'll accept a note from your home doc through the Medical Centre. For exams and the like, take your note from the home doc through the Medical centre, though you should contact the Medical centre before any exam to ensure the paperwork is done right.

It may be worth having a chat with the SU Education officer or Welfare to get a more correct answer.

I was in this situation a while ago and I got it from my own doctor and no one ever said anything to me.
