    ;)hi lads and ladies,im looking for fairly decent and reasonably priced digital thermometer/humidity clock for a d.i.y incubater,im presently making, does anybody know where i can get one in ireland, i want to try and hatch and rear my own phezzies,if it works ,im doing this on a lack of funds budget:eek::eek::) and will try and post pics and what ive made it with and how i get on ,any advise and tips would be greatly taken on board ;):D regards p.s

    id say its as cheap to buy day old chicks
    as buy eggs and try hatch them in a home made incubator
    hope it works for ya all the same

    it's cheaper ;) buying day olds without a doubt
    but if you want the bits your talking about ebay is as good a place as any

    day olds are a euro a peice , is it a clock or a digital control stat you want?

    For all you would save would be pennys.Your better off going for the day old chicks unless your trying to prove your incubator works.But you will lose more money in the long run so buy the day old chicks and your success rate will be higher best of luck.

    yea seems to be the same advise from other lads ive spoken to as well,ah its just something i want to try out,i have unfortunately a lot of time on my hands:(:(:(:mad: its one of a few projects im doin to keep the body an mind active lol:), and if it works i would be thrilled knowing i hatched ,reared and releashed my own birds, it would be all the more satisifying for me:D:Dand thanks wildfowler for that info il be cheaking that out;)

    something which might help would be a tempstat
    These will measure the temp and control the heatsource. One plug. They also help on the energy bills.
    Some suit light bulbs while some suit ceramic heaters, or even heat matts.
    These are Used normally for reptiles but its the same idea.

    The website are more expensive then others but have the full selection. you will find others at a cheaper price.

    I know it might be a little expensive but they are great at keeping a set temp.

    anyone else that has a spare digital hygrometer/thermometer id be more than happy to part with a few quid for 1.majing a d.i.y incubator meself. .just chancing a dozen eggs so hoping things go well
