Applying multiple times to same company?

Heya guys, posting on behalf of a friend of mine.

He had tried applying for roles in a the same company twice (among others ofc) but didn't get the job both times with feedback though, experience one time and applied too late other time basically.

He is about to apply for another role in the same company. Will his previous attempts be hold against him? He didn't give any bad impressions and would really love to work in that particular company, any role.

Any advice for the approach that should be taken?

Applying costs nothing, go for it.

Definately reapply. He will look really keen and enthusiastic, and appear to already have loyalties toward their company. What employer wouldn't appreciate that?!

The only thing you shouldnt do is to apply for the same job through multiple agencies.

It lacks professionalism and the companies and agencies dont like it

Chances are they mightn't even remember him anyway. Even if they do, it won't do him any harm and at least it'll be something to chat about in an interview.:D So go for it.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Thanks for the replies, he was very worried to look bad as it was always different positions.

So far it was always direct applications to HR as a friend is working in the company and they have a refer system.

Would it be better to do the same or send an email directly to the responsible HR Manager to show the enthusiasm? We completely revamped the CV too so it doesn't look like a "lazy" application.

Send it to the HR manager but mention the friend so they will get their referral bonus. Previous applications (assuming you didn't make an ass of yourself) aren't really held against you, unless you apply for many different jobs of all different types. Some people will apply for 50+ jobs at one company, ranging from Receptionist to Senior Director, which obviously doesn't look good! As long as there's a theme to your friend's applications he'll be grand :)
