Saddle sores???

Hi, I have a question. Im getting really bad saddle sores. They first ame about 2years ago I was cycling in Lanza and on the last day I wore an unwashed pair of cycling shorts thinking it would be fine since I was only doing 1 hour before I left for home. Since then every time I ride over 3.5/4hrs I get really sores, but just to one side. I been to my doctor I've tried creams, Vaseline etc I have different types of chamois but it makes no difference, still the same outcome.
As i prepare for another season of Ironman and triathlon enough is enough. The only thing I haven't had done since then is a bike fit. Would this play a massive part in my problem? Or am I just doomed to be crippled for life with these sores? All input no matter how far put there greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

A bike fit could definitely help. I presume you've tried different saddles. If not, that could offer an even easier (and cheaper) solution to your problem.

My roadbike came equipped with a Selle San Marco saddle - a perfectly decent piece of kit, well made and nicely finished. But that saddle and my backside were simply incompatible. End of. For days after every race or training spin I'd be wincing and cursing my way to and from work on my commute. Fore/aft, up/down, tilt - adjustments made no difference.

So I swapped that saddle for a Selle Italia of similar price/quality and the problem was solved instantly. I'm not saying go out and get yourself a Selle Italia. Maybe that's what you've already got! But there's a good chance that there's a saddle out there made just for you. You just need to find it.

shave it really helps, i suffered from saddle sores sometimes they might last a few weeks, tried a few differnet creams nothing cleared them, benpanten(baby cream) seemed to work a bit, but once i regularly shaved the area i have not had a problem since
