    Hi all,

I'm buying an amp and I'm between an AC30 and a Fender Blues Deluxe.

I've played both but can't make up my mind.

Can anyone make the decision easier for me.? Using a strat if that's any help

I'll tell you one thing, the Fender is lighter!

It really depends what vintage AC30... I wouldn't own most of the newer ones... Blues DLXs are also pretty just ok.

What sort of music and what's your budget?

If you're willing to order from the UK, there's a huge variety of better alternatives on offer.

I had the fender deluxe hotrod and now I've an ac30 blueback. I know thats not exactly what you were asking but I found the difference incomparable. The vox is much better in my opinion. That said, just play them both again, preferably one after the other and see which you prefer. The newer ac30's have a master volume which is a big thing for me anyways.

I think some neck guitars have a 70's model for decent money which I'd check out if I was you

I would be really careful of 70s AC30s...

Someneck does have a Marshall made AC30 (at last check) which is def one of the better non-60s ones out there... it's prolly pretty cheap as well... and much better than any new one...

A BIG issue with AC30s is that they're notoriously bas at taking pedal, esp OD/Distortion pedals...

I think it's really a case that you have to try the two out.

The vox has that great renowned vox chime and the bite of the top boost channel, and the fender has the sparkly cleans with a more Marshall-like overdrive, and it takes pedals really well.

It's kind of an apples v oranges comparison.
