window fail

    Something in the Passanger window went bang this morning, was winding it down and heard a loud crack now can't get the window up its making a noise like a belt is moving around inside, car is a seat altea05 any ideas what it could be? And would it be a handy fix someone on adverts iz zelling parts off a 05 golf, so I could get the bits there if I knew what to ask for.

    Window reg failure, common enough in these. They are fairly tricky to fit and cost somewhere in the region of €130 from the main dealer iirc. They are different to the Golf too.

    It should do (that's front left there)

    Can be a right pig to fit.
    Use a piece of wood or some strong suction cups to hold up the widow in place while you fit.

    Yeah this was a bit much for my patience, went to the dealers today and got it done.. super job!
