My Dad has a token meter and is wondering can he get a night saver meter installed without having to enter a billed contract?

Also if he can what are the off peak hours that the electricity is cheaper?

    Hi chris2008x,

The token meter would need to be removed first before changing to a Nightsaver meter. Unfortunately the two are not compatible.

Your father would already be on a billed contract; the token meter doesn't change this. Bills that arrive every two months are to be cleared as normal, in accordance with our credit terms. The addition of a token meter enables the clearing of accumulated arrears; essentially the token meter is a debt-collection device. It is not a pay-as-you-go meter, as is sometimes thought.

The Nightsaver hours come into effect from 11pm-8am in wintertime, and 12am-9am in summertime (in accordance with daylight savings).

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Thanks,

    David.
