Hey guys, just wondering - do you think Sony would ever implement their games console into a TV? Sony already sell TVs, why not sell TV's with slightly larger arse that has a console already integrated into it as a bundle? So just put the game into the TV, controller can be used as remote control as well maybe. Just a thought.

They already have something like that,
Except its a ps2 built into the tv

Doubt they would do it with current gen consoles though,
Would cost too much and the heat build up would be ridiculous.

it'd be silly business-wise to do it with ps3s but with digital downloads for gaming increasing and the ps3 being a media hub; people accessing netflix, TV etc on their console i thought it would be a neat idea. It'd have to be for a good price and not harm the form factor though. Like 50" (O)LED screen & integrated PS4 for $1000. Do you think it could work or would this be too niche?

    I'd buy that.

I'd say it would be possible to do, just don't think Sony would ever implement it.
Too many playstation and tv variations.

Leave it to console modders, but it would be very cool.

Given the volume of YLOD & RROD's of modern consoles, I think I'll pass. I like my TV's to last longer than three years.

Buying such a tv would likely be more expensive than the 2 separate devices, due to the lower produced numbers and the dis-economies of scale even as most of the parts would be shared. Comparability for SEN and maybe a few of the simpler games or older games going forward but any built in system would never been the newest one.
