    Hi,

I got a call there for a job out in clonskeagh. When I went for interview it took ages getting there. Got train to grand canl station and walked for about 40 minutes.

Does anyone know what the best and shortest route is?

I was told sydney parade and then walk is best option but even that would be 1 and half hours. Anyone know any shorter options?

    Thanks!

Green line Luas might suit depending on where in Clonskeagh you need to get to. Change at Tara St or Pearse and walk to St Stephen's Green(what a great integrated network we have- not).

There's probably a good bus option too.

By bus, take the 66, 66X or 67 to Nassau Street and switch to the 11 which will take you to Clonskeagh Road.

If you work regular office hours you could take the 66x as far as Donnybrook Bus Depot. Should be about a 10-15 minute walk from there to your office block.

Outside those times, it's more complicated. Green line to Milltown would involve a lot of walking both in the city centre and at the end of the journey. It doesn't look at all like a good option to me.

One possibility is the train as far as Tara Street, then the 46a/145 from D'olier Street, again as far as Donnybrook Bus Depot. By no means ideal but less of a walk than Sydney Parade or Milltown Luas.

The 11 would take you much closer to your office but if you want your journey time to be consistent, the 46a and 145 have a combined frequency that makes them far more reliable.

EDIT: KD345's post probably makes the most sense, I just have a personal hatred of waiting for buses that are not super-frequent. But 66/67 then 11 may well prove to be the fastest.

Several companies in those office blocks offer free shuttle buses to/from the DART. Some also have buses from Heuston. It might be worth asking your prospective employers if they do the same.

Thanks very much guys. All advise much appreciated. Sure I will try a few of the routes above.

Im working regular 9-5. The 66x seams to be best option. Bus to town and train to town at that time though? Would train not get you in to town 15-20 mins earlier than bus? On that note sydney Parade might be better option.

Either way its a killer morning travel but Who cares I finally have a job!!!!!!:):)

66x bypasses Lucian village and boots in along the N4 and Chapelizod bypass.
It'll be about as quick as the train!
And congratulations on the job too.

Worth also mentioning that the 11 bus passes drumcondra station

Remember too yomama,do your homework on the ticketing...if your using the 66X,then it just HAS to be a Travel90..in facta if your using any Dublin Bus combination the T90 makes huge economic sense.

Get off at Donnybrook Church then stride purposefully across the N 11 and up to the top of Beaver Row.

The various Beech Hill complexes are all clustered together on your Left.

    Enjoy the new experience :)

Starting in Paddy Power by any chance?

For the outbound journey as well as the 66x you can also get the 67x which serves Maynooth via Celbridge in the evenings. Takes about 10 minutes longer than the 66x. No good for you in the morning though as the 67x starts in Celbridge.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

    66x 1/4 on. Any takers:)

I'd take the train any day. Sweaty hot 66X vs train? No brainer.

You can also use the gate from belfield office park into ucd, follow gravel track clockwise around presidents lodge until you get to greenfield park, walk from there to n11 at rte. might be bit quicker than beaver row.
