Generic car battery

Hi all, I have a 1997 Nissan Micra 1.0. If I get a new battery, are there many that will work in my car, or does it have to be a specific model of battery?

I see the ones in Halfords.ie are out of stock, but even if they were in stock, they seem to cost a lot.

Any help on this would be gratefully appreciated on answering the question, pointing me towards a possible good place to source a new battery, or any other advice.

All you need is a battery of the same AH and CCA capacity and of roughly the same dimensions. It doesn't really matter who made it. Older Fords used a unique terminal design which won't fit your car but I doubt you'd find those nowadays.
