Over the last week or 2, I've recieved some notifications (not via gmail or text)

There has been a red + symbol & a white star with a red dot in the middle.

From the small bit of text I could see it was "Last chance to win iPad" or "Win the new iPad" - I've just hit the clear button, but I'm wondeing what they are from - could they contain a virus? (I'm not too savvy on this whole area)

    Thanks

    MacGyver to the rescue! :D

Yes, it sounds like that Airpush Notifications BS.
It uses push notifications to advertise to you!
Tunee Music is a well known rogram that people d/l that contains this type of advertising. OP, you probably d/l an app that contained this type of advertising, but the app that Mac suggested should get rid of the problem for you :)

Im not sure if rogram was a typo or intentional but if its a typo i think you've just coined a new phrase for dodgy programs

Oh it was an utter typo, I'm not even gonna pretend to be that witty! :pac:

Little A: It's not the case that a virus could be delivered to your phone with this method, but if you clicked on the notification, then went off an installed some app from the link, then it may contain some form of malware.

But I wouldn't worry if I was you, cos you said that you hit clear in the notification window.
