3GS mute switch issue

On my wifes 3gs if you touch the phone anywhere near the physical mute switch it engages silence and vice versa, has anyone had this happen, any ideas how to repair?

Same happened to my 3G. Got it repaired (they actually replaced switch)by some crowd in UK for about 25.

Very common problem
The button/switch flex needs to be replaced
