Whatever happened to .....?

First in a series of threads asking whatever happened to regular posters who suddenly stopped posting

We're starting this off with "Whatever happened to Raam", who has 9,999 posts to his name, but seems reluctant to make his 10,000th for some reason. His last post was back on 5th February. He claims that there has not been anything since worthy of his 10,000th post

I've offered to help him by deleting some old posts to give him some headroom, but to no avail. He doesn't seem to want to be tempted out of retirement. I was also thinking of re-instating one of his deleted posts so he gets to 10,000 anyway, but am not resorting to that at this stage.

Anyway, perhaps this thread on his behalf will provide an appropriate opportunity for him to take the plunge...

In the meantime, feel free to post your favorite memories of Raam. It may be his fashion advice thread for example. A personal favourite is his "Image of Beasty"

He's either sandbagging before the new season and pretending he has no interest in cycling or he's finally wasted away similar to the pot noodle add.

There's a few that I haven't seen many posts from recently; Blorg, Unionman & Gavin.

I know Blorg is off cycling around the world at the moment, at least I think he still is.

You've forgotten the first rule of stalking - "Do not talk about stalking". Stalking is a vocation, frankly your hobby-stalking antics are bringing it into disrepute. Your local stalking group rep will be round to your place to reclaim your stalking camo gear and night vision goggles (in fact he's already waiting at your door, where he has been concealed for several weeks now disguised as a cheerful bunch of daffodils).

That's his picture of me - I don't have a mangled Cervelo - I suspect I may need to avoid the Club League this year to avoid such a fate though....

Yea I realised that after I posted. The svelte nature of the imagine threw me!

I was introduced to Raam as the mounting goat few years ago. They weren't far off whoever picked that nickname. I clearly remember 3 years back near the top of the sally gap (they were all waiting for me to arrive) a guy passes quite fast from the group and someone shouts to raam go get him and he jumped (like a goat) and chased him down. I was clearly impressed back then! It's a pleasure to see raam climbing, he just goes off..!

There are few other guys we 're missing.. The Claw is one, Scott is another one and I ll remember few later :p

The Claw is juggling literary fame and fatherhood - I doubt we'll hear from him for about a decade.

Do not tell us there is NOTHING you want to comment on today!

Beasty in THE LADIES RACE & being assisted to (try to.... ) beat THE LADIES by your very own LDB....... No? Nothing????

Lumen placing in a race by pretending he can't do any work for most it because his bike has a quote-unquote "death rattle".......No? Really???

Vlad providing running race reports from mid-race (well it had to be mid-race didn't it???? Or else what??).....Oh COME ON!!!!

PS Well done Lumen! I'm thinking the thigh is better then, or was it it that was rattling ;)

    PPs Well done Beasty too!!

Where is "there"? I thought you were further east already, out Beijing way? Or are you making your way to Singapore/Indonesia to get to Oz?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,200 ✭✭✭manwithaplan

    I suspect "there" is either:

    (a) a state of enlightenment, or
    (b) broke.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,995 ✭✭✭✭blorg

For now, the destination is Australia, although there is some truth in what manwithaplan says, although (b) is not a concern right now. Obviously also I will have to get back from there, it really is in the middle of nowhere down in the south of the planet.

I went south in China and went through Vietnam and Laos on the way to Cambodia. I didn't go to eastern China. I spent 1.5 months in Vietnam, largely in Hanoi, (entered 1 October) and 3 months in Laos so I am not exactly moving through very fast. It is a pleasant and easy part of the world and I will leave it with some reluctance.

if its anything when i was in singapore (had friends living there) the always said that malaysia was half the price of singapore and thailand was half again
so my guess is its gonna get more expensive from there (although malaysia is asia light)
