Hi folks we bought this box for my Mother so she would have the English channels through the dish and Irish channels through the aerial.I set it up and tuned all the channels in but the Irish channels won't work. It's just a black screen with the sound breaking up.English stations were grand.I tried the box upstairs and the Irish are working perfect.Brought the box back down and the Irish still won't work. She has all the Irish channels working perfect without the combi box.Any ideas as what could be wrong?

are these the saorview channels or analogue?
are you using a set top aerial ?
if so run an extention upstairs (tempoary)
then get a proper aerial installed.

The saorview channels on the box work fine upstairs but will not work in sitting room.. New UHF aerial was put on roof a few months ago and all rooms are connected up to the aerial. All tv3,tg4 and Rtes are fine on all televisions in the house.

Is the analogue signal quality on the sittingroom tv equal to the rooms where Saorview works? (I suppose you'd really need to check different aerial points with the same tv set.)

Yes mate all analogue signal quality seem the very same around the house. I'll bring the telly upstairs down and see if that works. But the 32 inch JVC in the sitting room is only a couple of years old. Thanks.

Does the sitting room tv have separate cables for satellite & terrestrial or are the combined on one cable?

Does the aerial feed pass through any other devices (e.g. VCR) before it gets to the Triax receiver?

All separate cables and they aren't going through any other devices. I brought the telly from another room into the sitting room and it's the same black screen and sound break up. Tried the saorview box once more on the original telly and by gently holding the aerial cable over the RF in and gently touching it,the channels appeared but as soon as I put the cable into the RF slot they all disappear again.I changed the aerial connector but it's still the same. Driving me mad at this stage haha.

Too much signal at that TV point?

Is there a distribution amp or masthead amp in the system and if so where is it located?

How is the signal distributed to all the rooms splitter? distribution amp?

Is that TV point connected to the aerial differently to the other TV points?
