Can anyone shed light on this problem?

My sister has Imagine WiMax. Her PC can connect to the receiver/router and can look up all the router settings etc but can't access the internet.

I brought my laptop around and plugged in the very same network cable and could access the internet no problems. Obviously I disabled the WiFi to make sure it wasnt connecting through it.

I've never seen this before and wondered if there was any obvious solution to this. It is bugging the hell out of me.

    Both running Windows 7 btw.

    Hi

I'm currently having issues with an Imagine Wimax wireless dongle.. I posted about it here and others are having the same problem. Basically its not connecting at all. I thought it might relate to my Windows 7 machine but that is not the case. The other people I spoke to here have been on to Imagine support and received conflicting information and have been given the runaround. I've requested call backs from both their sales and support teams and gotten nothing. It would be interesting to know if other people besides your sister are having issues with the Wimax router and connecting to the internet.

Not to be too much of a conspiracy theorist but I think possibly they're going through some organisational changes.. maybe being bought out. Its one possible explanation for the sudden occurance of these issues.

See how you get on with their support anyway.. assuming you can get through

Sorry I read your post quite quickly.. I now see that your laptop worked

So I guess that rules out the problem being account related

Its a strange one to be sure. When I had the PC at home it connected fine over my home network. Maybe they can dial on and see if there's a particular restriction on that router for that PC.

The problem only affects a certain small group of users, and the USB WiMAX Dongles.
The outdoor modems and the indoor Motorola WiFi modems are still working.

There's no conspiracy here, don't panic.
