I've been looking for some interesting wedding invite for my upcoming wedding. I stumbled upon some cool movie style poster invite(attached) and thought about creating my own. Only problem is I don't have any nice photo or image at hand to create my own, my misses is very camera shy. Would the good people of boards have any images I could use or even point me in the right direction?. I would add your name to the credit!. I partially like the third one with the snowy image but its a summer wedding so looking for something along them line. It has to be pretty awesome or she probably won't let me do it (under the thumb I know).

    Thanks

I'm feeling generous at the moment.

Have a search through my stream on pix.ie and if anything catches your eye I can provide higher res.

Surely the whole point is to have a picture of the actual couple who are getting married ? If I were you I'd persuade your fiance to overcome her camera phobia and get snapping. Or someone here could offer their services for a shoot :D

Yeah think your right about trying to get the two of us in a photo for it.

Yeah, I think the general idea here is that the actual couple getting married are the ones photographed.

I'd recommend persuading your wife-to-be to overcome her shyness, too. If nothing else, it'll help for on the wedding day (when you'll both most likely be photographed more than any other day in your lives). Could be worth asking the photographer you're considering fort the wedding, too (as it'll get you used to taking direction from him/her, making small talk, and getting a feel for him/her in general, etc.).

Just wondering how you got on with the invites? Looking into the same thing, but having trouble finding out how to make them/where to buy them?

    Thanks

The one who should be photographed is you and your fiancée. It will only look better if the subject of the invite is both of you since you are the one celebrating this special occasion. Try to encourage your fiancée that you badly needed this and she must participate to make everything fall in place.

definitely it needs you both in the invite, the first example you had would be perfect because your fiance wouldnt have to worry about what shes doing, but id highly recommend getting an engagement shoot done as a practice for the big day and then you can use any photos from that on the invites.
i like the style, a good friend of mine does unusual and customised wedding invites and paper things, shes on facebook, jill blanc designs, but has just gone away on hols. www.jillblanc.com i just did a shoot with her for her blog and she was really nervous about being in the photos but relaxed as soon as we started having fun, so im sure your fiance wont be too stressed about it when she sees how nice the pics turn out :)
